Canadian Human Rights Commission: Christmas is Discriminatory
The Story: The Canadian Humans Rights Commission has released a report claiming that celebrating Christmas is discriminatory and rooted in “Canada’s history of colonialism.”
The report lists “Christian” among other common identities that supposedly lead to discrimination, including “male,” “white,” “gender conforming,” and not being disabled. The report blames Canada’s “settler colonial” identity as the root cause of our “religious intolerance.”
The Significance: The Commission’s report is filled with so many stereotypically woke references that it’s easy to simply mock and disregard the Commission for producing such nonsense.
Many Christians in the West subscribe to a libertarian “live and let live” perspective. However, the events of the past 6 weeks have served as a stark reminder that reports like this one are more than empty virtue signaling; as the true final end of modern progressivism has reared its ugly head.
Western Society without Christianity is not simply Christmas Carols without Christ. It’s not a Hallmark movie where non-Christians wish each other “Happy Holidays.” Rather, it’s a culture of death, where Christians churches are burned and protestors justify murderous atrocities in the name of “Decolonization”.
The sobering reality is that the freedoms and values our nation enjoys are founded on a Christian heritage. We must be willing to push back strongly to defend not simply our holiday traditions, but ultimately the foundation of our society.

Some Canadian Nurses Administering Assisted Suicide for No Pay
The Story: According to a Canadian Press report, some Canadian healthcare practitioners are administrating assisted suicide on a volunteer basis without compensation. Niagara-region nurse practitioner Ellen Gretsinger, who is featured in the report, uses her weekends and evenings to provide deadly drugs to euthanasia recipients. The story explains, “demand for MAID is growing across the country. So Gretsinger does the work for free. She believes in it, especially after watching her mother suffer before she died of cancer.” Ontario law does not allow nurse practitioners to bill for independent work.
The Significance: While this story reveals much about Canada’s healthcare system, the most stunning revelation is that some nurse practitioners are willing to participate in killing without being paid. Much like abortion, the political argument in favour of assisted suicide has always been that choosing death is a private, personal choice—similar to any other elective medical procedure. Yet no healthcare practitioner volunteers their time to perform plastic surgery. The progressive commitment to assisted suicide goes far deeper, perverting the very concept of goodness until assisted suicide becomes a charitable necessity worthy of unpaid volunteer work.
If God is not sovereign, man must be sovereign—and a sovereign man must be able to determine the number of his days. But only God has the power to add or remove days from the human lifespan, and hastening death to avoid suffering will not lead to eternal rest. Human beings may wish to become gods, but only submission to the one true God will end the pain this world’s sufferers long to remove.

Provinces Move to Require Holocaust Education
The Story: BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba will make the Holocaust a mandatory subject in public schools. They join Ontario, which recently expanded this requirement to include additional information such as the tragic story of those who died in the Holocaust after Canada turned away the MS St. Louis.
The Significance: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” – George Santayana
The banality of evil—a term which itself comes from the trial of Holocaust architect Adolf Eichmann—has become all too familiar to Christians in recent times. Not only do we witness mobs in our streets celebrating the worst mass murder of Jews since the Holocaust, but we also see thousands of people—including Canadian academics—deny the existence of the very evil which they celebrate, all while TikTok influencers publicly support Osama Bin Laden’s justification for mass murder.
Christians should support the teaching of the Holocaust in Canadian schools, because it forces students, parents, and teachers to confront the reality that evil exists in this world and that it must not be allowed to become banal or acceptable.
“The light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.” – John 3:19-20

RCMP Intelligence Official Sold Government Secrets
The Story: A former director of the RCMP’s National Intelligence Coordination Centre has been convicted of violating the Security of Information Act.
In 2019, Cameron Ortis was accused of collecting hundreds of classified documents—including some containing high level secrets—and sharing them with criminal entities. He was also accused of intending to share them with foreign entities.
Much of the evidence against Ortis had been under a publication ban until his conviction by jury on Wednesday. Among the documents police found was contact information for Chinese officials and notes about “the plan” to “make contact.”
The Significance: Cameron Ortis had access to the most highly-classified files in Canada. That a man with his level of security clearance would be willing to betray his country is a reminder that espionage and foreign interference are not cinematic conspiracies, but real national security threats.
For the protection of our country, we must ensure that those who hold the most powerful positions in our Government are men and women of integrity. However, this story also highlights the importance of national identity—a concept that many so-called “post-national” politicians disdain. If one does not feel any particular attachment to their own country, why defend it, protect it, or keep its secrets?
An aimless nation with no central value system should be very worried. Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” These words are inscribed on our Parliament buildings and should be carefully heeded by this generation of Canadian leaders.

Quebec Woman Forfeits Championship Boxing Match Against Male Opponent
The Story: Just one hour before her Provincial Golden Glove Championship boxing match was scheduled to start on the weekend of October 27, Dr. Katia Bissonnette discovered that her opponent, Australian Mya Walmsley, was a biological man. As a result, Bissonnette refused to take part in the fight, handing a victory by default to Walmsley.
The Significance: Dr. Bissonette explained her decision in an interview with Reduxx: “Women shouldn’t have to bear the physical and psychological risks brought by a man’s decisions regarding his personal life and identity. There should be two categories: biological male and female.” She later cited a 2020 study: “a male blow has 163% more impact than a women’s, even adjusted for weight.”
While some may accuse Bissonnette of cowardice for withdrawing from the fight, the truth is that it takes far more courage to speak publicly about transgender issues than it does to quietly escape into the background. Women like Dr. Bissonnette, Riley Gaines, and April Hutchinson should be celebrated for their courage and the results they are accomplishing.
Christians should stand with these athletes and boldly proclaim the truth of God’s creation—that He has made us in His image, fearfully and wonderfully, male and female. We should fight for this truth and never allow our own complacency to destroy the beauty of God’s good creation.

Saskatchewan MLA Charged After Prostitution Sting
The Story: Saskatchewan MLA Ryan Domotor has been removed from the Saskatchewan Party Caucus after he was charged with communicating for the purposes of obtaining sexual services. Domotor, who has served as the MLA for Cutknife-Turtleford since 2020, was one of 16 people arrested at a Regina hotel during a recent human trafficking sting conducted by the RCMP. Following Domotor’s expulsion from the Government caucus, Premier Scott Moe stated, “Those in public office should be working to support vulnerable women, not exploit them. There is absolutely no place in our government, nor frankly in the assembly, for someone who has been charged with such a crime.”
The Significance: Premier Moe’s condemnation of Domotor’s actions underscores a political truth: private morality cannot be separated from public morality. The man who has no regard for his wedding vows will also have little regard for his election promises. Furthermore, a legislator troubled by unrepentant sin will quickly lose interest in legislating against the evils in which he himself participates, neglecting his public duty in the process. This helps explain why many Canadian politicians who regularly commit adultery begin “evolving” on issues such as same-sex marriage and abortion. Character matters. As King Lemuel’s mother urges her son, “Do not give your strength to women, your ways to those who destroy kings. It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for rulers to take strong drink, lest they drink and forget what has been decreed and pervert the rights of all the afflicted” (Prov. 31-3-5).
